Quick dome update, plus my secret...

Hello again everyone!

Not a huge amount of progress at the moment, so just a quick update

I've been adding hinges and servos to the lower doors on the dome :) No servos in yet, but should be soon.

I did make a video for you all though :p

I promised I'd give you an update on the secret thing in R2 I had planned for CE2.  Unfortunately CE2 was very loud so I didn't get to show it off very much :(  So here you go!

My first purchase....

I took the plunge.

I'm now committed to making this thing, having bought this gorgeous laser cut styrene dome.

I had planned on getting an Aluminium one, but decided a styrene one would be best for a few reasons.

Firstly, and most importantly, the cost.  An aluminium dome would cost considerably more.  I could have perhaps got one for around the same cost but with out any of the panels marked but not only would that have required more work I would also need tools I don't have.  

I have to say, I think I'm going to be very happy with this.  Credit goes to Cole Horton (HoosierTrooper) over at Astromech.net for these.

I'll post pics when I receive mine, however shipping isn't due until mid March.  I'm sure it'll be worth the wait though
