More updates for your pleasure!

Router issue solved!!

I now have a 2 flute router bit that's 2.4mm.  It doesn't give me space for a rough cut (unless I drill new holes for them) but I'm happy with the cut that it's given so far!

One issue that I've been having with it is that due to the router being upside down, styrene dust is falling onto the router bit and melting to it.  It's not been a huge issue but after every circle I've had to make sure to clear it off before cutting the next piece.

The edges are gorgeous - I'm very pleased with them!  I was happy with how the first ring turned out but this is far better.

I've tried rotating the pieces at different speeds to see what kind of finish it gives.  To my surprise, turning the work faster was better than slow and steady!

I had a few hours to work on them last night and here's the new pieces I cut (minus the base plate)

That's from about 2 hours worth of cutting styrene sheets down to size and the sticking on the plans.

And finally for todays update...

... getting ready to be glued.  All the uprights for the first tier are cut, filed, and at a height I'm happy with.  I want to finish the second ring before I do commit to gluing it on!
